The Bible tells us, “A merry heart does good, like medicine,
but a broken spirit dries the bones” (Proverbs 17:22).

In his book, What You Don’t Know May Be Killing You, Dr. Don Colbert shows that
research conducted by the Department of Behavioral Medicine at the UCLA Medical
School on the physical benefits of happiness proved conclusively that “laughter,
happiness, and joy are perfect antidotes for stress.” Colbert added, “A noted
doctor once said that the diaphragm, thorax, abdomen, heart, lungs — and
even the liver — are given a massage during a hearty laugh.” Wow, that’s
the easiest workout I know!

In light of that, let me share a comical story that occurred on our way home from
a healing mission:

Returning from a healing conference, one late Sunday evening, we were on the last shuttle, in the Austin-Bergstrom airport parking lot, with several fellow passengers.
As we each approached the lots in which our cars were parked, we called out A-1, A-5,
B-6, B-8, etc. Suddenly, a sleepy little boy of about 6 years roused himself and
boomed out B-Quiet!!
